About the role
Our client is an infrastructure communications technology company providing end-to-end fibre solutions for businesses and wholesale/carrier/channel organisations across London.
This sales engineer role will be focused on contributing to the design of customer solutions and being that link between customers, sales, and the network team.
What you will do:
In this commission earning role, you will work collaboratively with the sales teams to identify customer technical needs and enable growth by designing good network solutions and forging strong relationships with clients. Main activities will

  • Attending customer meetings with the sales team to understand customer requirements, address questions, and deliver solutions.
  • Assist the sales team in qualifying new opportunities and identifying upselling possibilities.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to the sales team to enhance their technical knowledge and sales skills, ensuring they are equipped to effectively communicate product benefits and address customer needs.
  • Design network connectivity diagrams that align with customer business needs.
  • Collaborate on responses to tenders (RFI/RFP), ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Stay informed about product developments and industry practices, capturing customer feedback for the Senior Leadership Team.
    Your Experience/Technical Skills:
  • Strong technical acumen understanding network topologies and technologies.
  • Good working knowledge of OSI Layer 2 to Layer 5 networking principles and protocols.
  • Experience of routing, switching and security within telecommunications sector
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and documentation skills, ideally with experience in Visio.
  • Results-driven with a focus on working towards and meeting all KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced and agile B2B technical sales environment (telecoms preferred).
  • Commercially focused and happy to operate autonomously coupled with a sense of ownership, urgency, and drive for team success
