Job Role: Welding Supervisor
Location: Leicester
Shift: Days
Pay Rate: £15.50 to £16.00 per hour depending on experience

Overview:

An established sheet metal / fabrication manufacturer are seeking a dedicated and experienced Welding Supervisor to join their team. The Welding Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of welders and ensuring that all welding tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in welding processes, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the work of welders to ensure that all welding operations are completed in a timely manner, across 2 shifts
Plan and prioritise welding projects, assign tasks to team members, and provide guidance and support as needed
Inspect welds and ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Train and mentor new welders, provide feedback on performance, and address any issues or concerns
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools, and ensure a safe working environment
Collaborate with other departments to schedule and coordinate welding projects and meet production deadlines
Implement measures to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality in the welding process
Monitor inventory levels of welding supplies and equipment, and coordinate procurement as neededQualifications:

Proven experience as a welder, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong technical knowledge of welding processes, including MIG, laser machining, and press brake operations
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a team
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in welding operations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
Certification in welding or relevant vocational training is preferredApply:
