Lead Systems Engineer - Market Making - Crypto

We are representing a cutting-edge Prop trading firm that is redefining market-making and liquidity provision in Crypto markets. Our client operates at the intersection of blockchain, algorithmic and automated trading, and distributed systems, and is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to architect and scale the infrastructure behind their high-performance Crypto operations.

Role Overview

As Lead Systems Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the systems that power real-time, on-chain trading strategies. You’ll work across bare metal and cloud environments, automate infrastructure, and ensure the reliability and scalability of systems that interact directly with smart contracts and blockchain nodes.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and manage Linux-based systems across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines tailored for blockchain-integrated services.
• Build and maintain infrastructure for running blockchain nodes, RPC endpoints, and trading bots.
• Automate deployment and monitoring using Python and Golang.
• Ensure high availability and performance of systems interacting with DeFi protocols.
• Collaborate with smart contract developers, quant researchers, and trading engineers.

Skills

• 8+ years' experience as a System Engineer / Platform Engineer
• 5+ years' experience in Linux system administration and performance tuning.
• Strong experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Proven track record in CI/CD pipeline design, especially for distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency in Python and Golang for automation and tooling.
• Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, including Ethereum, Solana, or Layer 2 networks.
• Understanding of DeFi protocols, smart contracts, and on-chain data flows is a strong advantage.

Bonus Skills

• Experience running validator nodes or RPC infrastructure.
• Knowledge of MEV, DEX architecture, or liquidity provisioning.
• Contributions to open-source DeFi or blockchain projects.
