Proof of work

The team

Breakout is a crypto-native proprietary trading platform backed by Kraken. Founded in 2023 by industry veterans, we combine deep liquidity, cutting-edge technology, and world-class risk management to create an unparalleled trading experience. Acquired by Kraken, we now operate two prop trading products — Breakout Prop and Kraken Prop — at the intersection of the world's most trusted crypto exchange and a fast-moving prop firm.

We're a lean, high-conviction team where every hire genuinely shapes the product. Getting traders through the door, getting them funded, and keeping them engaged is what drives the business — and this role owns all of it.

You'll work alongside traders, engineers, designers, and growth marketers who move fast, think rigorously, and hold each other to a high bar. If you want to build a prop trading product that people actually love using — from first click to payout — this is the team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product, the PM, Prop Growth will own the full trader lifecycle experience across Breakout Prop and Kraken Prop — acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and everything in between.

The opportunity

  • Drive the growth and engagement roadmap within your domain — sequencing, requirements, and delivery — in close partnership with the Head of Product

  • Own the end-to-end trader lifecycle: from first touch through checkout, onboarding, funded account, and repeat purchase

  • Lead the product strategy for trader engagement and retention — competitions, achievements, rewards, in-app notifications, and loyalty programs

  • Own mobile product strategy across both Breakout Prop and Kraken Prop — signup flow, payments, push notifications, and in-app engagement

  • Partner with design to establish a cohesive Breakout design system — seamless UX from acquisition to trading

  • Work with marketing and growth on localization, affiliate programs, and expanding prop into new markets

  • Own onboarding improvements — in-terminal education, progressive disclosure, and reducing time-to-first-trade for new users

  • Set the bar for what "done" means on growth and UX features — requirements, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and post-ship iteration

Skills you should HODL

  • Product depth

    • 3-6+ years in senior product management, with significant experience owning growth, engagement, or consumer UX

    • Track record of moving acquisition, activation, and retention metrics — you know how to find the lever and pull it

    • Experience designing and shipping onboarding flows, checkout experiences, and engagement loops that actually work

    • Strong product instinct for what makes people come back — you think in terms of habits, hooks, and value delivery moments

    • Ability to write detailed, unambiguous product requirements that engineers and designers can act on without constant clarification

    • Experience with mobile product development — you think mobile-first and understand the constraints and opportunities of the channel

    Growth & data fluency

    • Comfortable with funnel analytics — you can slice a cohort, identify a drop-off, and turn it into a prioritized hypothesis

    • Experience running structured experiments and interpreting results without over-indexing on noise

    • Familiarity with lifecycle marketing tools (Braze or equivalent) and how product and marketing intersect in the engagement layer

    • Strong opinions on localization, internationalization, and building for global audiences

    Leadership & craft

    • Senior enough to own a domain with minimal direction — you set the agenda, you don't wait for one

    • Strong written communicator — your PRDs, tickets, and async updates are clear and complete

    • Experience working across design, engineering, and marketing in a fast-moving environment

    • User empathy — you've thought deeply about what it feels like to be a first-time prop trader who doesn't know where to start

    • Crypto-native or deeply curious — you understand the space, the culture, and why prop trading is having its moment

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.

We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives. We hire strictly based on merit, meaning we seek out the candidates with the right abilities, knowledge, and skills considered the most suitable for the job. We encourage you to apply for roles where you don't fully meet the listed requirements, especially if you're passionate or knowledgable about crypto!

We may ask candidates to complete job-related skills or work-style assessments as part of our hiring process. These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies relevant to the role and are applied consistently across candidates for similar positions. Where to Advertise Blockchain Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise blockchain jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that reach Web3, smart contract and protocol engineers. The candidate pool is global in outlook but concentrated in specific communities — protocol engineers, smart contract developers, DeFi specialists and Web3 product leaders who move between roles through networks and community channels as much as traditional job boards. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that blockchain professionals expect. Specialist platforms, crypto-native communities and targeted outreach each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by BlockchainJobs.uk, covers where to advertise blockchain roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Blockchain Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Blockchain Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the Web3, DeFi and tokenisation hiring trends shaping UK blockchain careers over the next three years. Blockchain is creating jobs in places nobody predicted three years ago. What began as infrastructure for cryptocurrency is now embedded in financial services, supply chain management, digital identity, healthcare records, and the emerging architecture of tokenised assets. The roles being hired for today bear little resemblance to the developer-heavy, crypto-native job adverts that defined the sector's early years. For job seekers, this is both the complexity and the opportunity of building a blockchain career in 2026. The sector has matured beyond its speculative phase and into serious institutional adoption — and that shift has fundamentally changed what employers are looking for, where the jobs are, and which skills command a premium. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years aren't necessarily those who got in earliest or who can recite the Bitcoin whitepaper from memory. They're the ones who understand where enterprise blockchain, decentralised finance, digital assets regulation, and Web3 infrastructure are heading — and who are building their skills accordingly. This article breaks down what the UK blockchain jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career ahead of the next wave rather than behind it.
