Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a global law firm, who are looking to recruit an experienced Associate to join their IP & Tech Litigation team based in the San Francisco, CA area.

WORK TYPE: Permanent 
WORK PATTERN: Full Time
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA  JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

Class actions under internet law pertaining to statutes and laws protecting consumers;
Complicated commercial litigation cases involving startups, venture capital funds, cryptocurrency/blockchain, and other tech firms and organizations, including disputes over founders and tokens, as well as investigations and enforcement actions from the SEC, CFTC, DOJ, state agencies, and attorneys general;
Issues pertaining to data security and privacy, such as incident response, commercial litigation stemming from incidents, and class actions for data breaches under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), and cases involving the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA);
Issues pertaining to intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyright, as well as enforcement of misuse of internet platforms. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE 

It is recommended that candidates has two to six years of expertise in litigation.
In addition to having expertise managing discovery, conducting research, and producing pleadings and briefs, the ideal candidate will have worked in a mid- to large law firm.
Technology, Internet law, defamation, crypto, privacy, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and sophisticated commercial litigation are all subjects that candidates should be somewhat familiar with and interested in.
It is advantageous to have in-house litigation management experience for a technology company.
In law school, qualified applicants will perform well academically.
The CA Bar requires candidates to be in good standing.
