  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1+ years working with blockchain or distributed ledger technologies
  • Familiarising with a queue-based architecture
  • Experience developing and deploying smart contract logic or similar on Layer 1 networks
  • Familiarity with token standards and asset representation on-chain
  • Understanding of cryptographic primitives (e.g. signatures, hashes, multisig) and transaction flows
  • Knowledge of blockchain tools, APIs, and development environments (e.g. Cosmos SDK, Elements for Liquid, etc.)

Nice to Haves

  • Exposure to finance or fintech environments, particularly involving digital assets or tokenization
  • Hands‑on experience with Cosmos SDK, Liquid Network, or other modular blockchain frameworks
  • Understanding of consensus mechanisms and interoperability protocols
  • Familiarity with regulated tokenization platforms or compliance‑first blockchain use cases
  • Experience working with custodial and non‑custodial wallet systems
  • Strong communication skills for writing documentation and technical specs
  • Generous stock options, with equity plans that let you share in the company’s growth
  • Private health insurance – we offer a premium private health insurance scheme (UK/IRE only)
  • We offer 24 days annual leave plus public holidays, with flexibility for additional time off

  • The opportunity to work in a high‑growth startup where your contribution matters and shapes an industry
  • Exposure to collaborative working and direct knowledge sharing from experts across financial services, blockchain and fintech

Why Blockchain Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Blockchain was once a niche technology, associated mostly with Bitcoin & cryptocurrency trading. In the UK today, it’s become a mainstream enabler of decentralised finance, supply chain traceability, identity management, health data sharing & even cultural products like NFTs. As blockchain matures, careers in the sector are expanding beyond developers & cryptographers. A blockchain project doesn’t just need people who can write smart contracts or design consensus mechanisms. It needs lawyers who understand regulation, ethicists who anticipate harm, psychologists who study user behaviour, linguists who simplify complex communication, and designers who build usable, trustworthy interfaces. In this article, we’ll explore why UK blockchain careers are becoming more multidisciplinary, how law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design shape the sector, and what job-seekers & employers must do to thrive.
