Typical Activities

Working In Collaboration With Internal Stakeholders Across Product, Engineering, Delivery, Managed Services, BD & Sales, And The CTO Organisation, The Crypto Devices Product Manager Will:



  • Define and own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of PentenAmio's cryptographic hardware devices used in secure mobility and gateway solutions.
  • Translate customer and mission requirements into technically feasible, certifiable product outcomes.
  • Partner with cryptography, hardware, firmware, and assurance experts to deliver devices that meet government security standards.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from discovery and development through formal evaluation, certification, and in-service sustainment.
  • Engage with external evaluation labs and certifying bodies to plan and achieve approval milestones.
  • Prioritise product features and milestones to align engineering delivery with evaluation and assurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and vendor partners to ensure secure and scalable production.
  • Define and track key performance indicators - including technical, assurance, and customer metrics.
  • Work closely with other Product Managers to ensure seamless integration of devices within broader secure mobility systems.
  • Champion best practice product management methods, supporting the growth of product culture and capability across PentenAmio.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in developing or managing secure, multidisciplinary technology products (ideally cryptographic or hardware-based).
  • Proven ability to translate technical and security requirements into actionable product strategies.
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles such as key management, secure boot, hardware security modules, and tamper resistance.
  • Experience supporting or navigating formal security evaluations (e.g. FIPS 140-3, Common Criteria, CAPS).
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical, commercial, and assurance domains.
  • Strong collaboration skills with engineering, vendors, and certifying authorities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with detail-oriented delivery and documentation.
  • Structured, analytical mindset with the ability to prioritise effectively across complex product dependencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable for technical and executive audiences.
  • Proactive, curious, and outcome-driven, with a passion for protecting critical missions through technology.
  • Experience in cryptographic device development, secure firmware, or embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with secure communications protocols (TLS, IPsec, X.509, PKI).
  • Understanding of UK Defence and National Security technology environments.
  • Experience managing supply chain security and export-controlled products.
  • Awareness of post-quantum cryptography and modern assurance trends.

Qualifications & Eligibility

To Be Eligible For This Position You Must



  • Hold a degree in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline; or have equivalent professional experience in secure technology development; and,
  • Be a British citizen; and
  • Hold or be eligible for UK National Security Vetting (NSV) - SC minimum / DV preferred level clearance.
