About Us

GSR is crypto’s capital markets partner, helping founders and institutions scale with confidence. With over a decade of specialized expertise, we deliver institutional-grade market making, OTC trading, and strategic venture capital to support growth at every stage.

Our value goes beyond execution. We provide access to liquidity, real-time market intelligence, and strategic guidance shaped by years operating at the center of global crypto markets. We bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets, connecting teams with the capital, market access, and insights they need to build what’s next.

About The Role

As a DeFi Trader, you will be at the forefront of ideating, developing, and maintaining GSR’s trading algorithms across a spectrum of decentralized exchanges and underlying blockchains. This role can be based in London, Zug, or the United States, depending on the candidate’s preference and working eligibility.

You will leverage the firm’s world-class trading infrastructure, access to dozens of liquidity venues, and a strong internal DeFi team to build out DeFi strategies across liquidity provisioning, principal trading, and passive yield generation. You will bring a strong risk management mindset and the ability to identify, understand, and model the novel risks that exist within DeFi.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge automated trading algorithms tailored to DeFi venues and blockchains, across a range of liquidity provisioning strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to improve trading strategies and risk management techniques.
  • Discover, test, and validate new patterns and trading signals using backtesting and performance analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm’s quantitative trading and research teams to create robust solutions for automated DeFi trading.
  • Stay current with developments in DeFi to identify short-term trading opportunities and inform long-term strategic direction.

Your Profile

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, or a related technical field.
  • Prior experience with DeFi-focused trading strategies, either professionally or personally.
  • Strong familiarity with DEXs, protocol mechanics, blockchain fundamentals, and smart contract security.
  • Excellent logical reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Experience writing code to process and analyze large data sets.
  • Proficiency in software development and engineering principles.

What We Offer

  • A collaborative and transparent company culture founded on Integrity, Innovation, and Performance.
  • Benefits including healthcare, dental, vision, retirement planning, 30 days of holiday, and free lunches when in the office.
  • Hybrid working pattern across our global offices in London, the US, Singapore, Zug, and Malaga. Regular Town Halls, team lunches, offsites, and social events.
  • A strong Corporate and Social Responsibility program, including charity matching and volunteer days.
  • Immigration and relocation support where required.
