We're hiring an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead the development of a new institutional trading platform for crypto assets. This is a greenfield build with direct impact - you'll work cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to define, build, and ship a secure, scalable, and high-performance platform.

The team operates in a lean, startup-style environment - fast-paced, flat-structured, and highly collaborative. We're looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and can drive delivery while shaping technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full product lifecycle of the Single Dealer Platform
  • Translate business needs into detailed product requirements and technical specifications
  • Manage engineering roadmaps, sprints, and deliverables using Agile methodologies
  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with best practices
  • Ensure integration with market data feeds and execution systems using FIX protocol
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and design reviews
  • Uphold cybersecurity standards in coordination with security consultants
  • Leverage AWS infrastructure for deploying, monitoring, and scaling platform components
  • Use Python scripts for automation, prototyping, and light data analysis when needed
  • Track KPIs and gather user feedback to iterate and improve product functionality and performance
  • Maintain a focus on system latency, ensuring low-latency execution pathways and minimizing delays across the platform

    What You'll Be Building

  • A greenfield single-dealer platform for institutional counterparties
  • Features include: pricing UI, trade execution, crypto asset deposits, and research tools
  • Currently outsourced - now being built in-house for scale, control, and performance
  • High-volume, low-latency trading environment

    Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a technical Product Manager role, ideally in FinTech, crypto, or capital markets
  • Strong technical background - able to engage deeply with engineers on system design and infrastructure
  • Experience with externally facing products (not just internal tools or integrations)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, identity/access management, and secure APIs
  • Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch)
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for basic automation or data parsing tasks
  • Awareness of latency-critical systems and ability to make trade-offs between speed, scalability, and reliability
  • Experience managing full-stack product development with a focus on scalability and performance
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially when bridging technical and business perspectives
  • Based in London or New York

    Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with the FIX protocol and electronic trading systems
  • Prior experience building trading platforms or single-dealer platforms
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts (firewalls, VPNs, VPCs, subnets, routing)
  • Knowledge of crypto markets, blockchain infrastructure, and DeFi protocols
  • Certifications in AWS or cybersecurity

    Why Join?

  • Work at a leading algorithmic trading firm with a strong reputation in the crypto space
  • Accelerated responsibilities and ownership compared to traditional finance environments
  • Vibrant working culture with team meals, gaming events, and company-wide celebrations
  • Central London office with amenities like table tennis, foosball, and personalized desk setups
  • Informal, ambitious, and collaborative startup vibe
  • Performance-based compensation with significant earning potential, plus pension and private health insurance

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Blockchain Job Applications (UK Guide)

Hiring managers in blockchain tech do not start by reading every line of your CV. They scan for credibility, clarity and relevance, and they make an early judgement about whether you can solve real problems in a cutting-edge, evolving landscape. In blockchain and distributed ledger roles—whether in core protocol teams, smart contract development, Web3 infrastructure, compliance/security, or product-focused positions—the strongest applications make the right signals obvious in the first 10–20 seconds. This in-depth guide explains exactly what hiring managers in UK blockchain jobs look for first, how they assess CVs, cover letters and portfolios, and why strong candidates sometimes get overlooked. Use it as a practical checklist before you apply for roles on www.blockchainjobs.uk

The Skills Gap in Blockchain Jobs: What Universities Aren’t Teaching

Blockchain technology has moved far beyond cryptocurrency headlines. Across finance, supply chains, cybersecurity, gaming, digital identity, healthcare, and public infrastructure, distributed ledger technology is being explored, tested and deployed at scale. Yet despite growing adoption, blockchain employers across the UK consistently report the same problem: a severe shortage of job-ready talent. Graduates emerge with theoretical knowledge, computer science fundamentals, or an interest in decentralisation—but struggle to meet the practical demands of blockchain roles. Vacancies remain open. Startups compete aggressively for experienced hires. Employers spend months searching for candidates who can contribute from day one. The issue is not intelligence. It is not motivation. It is not even demand. The problem is a widening skills gap between blockchain education and real blockchain jobs. This article explores that gap in depth: what universities teach well, what they routinely miss, why the gap exists, what UK employers actually want, and how jobseekers can bridge the divide to build sustainable careers in blockchain.
