Plexus is partnering with a pioneering Bitcoin Layer 2 company on a mission to make Bitcoin work for everyone. The team empowers developers to build on Bitcoin and pushes the frontiers of decentralized technology. Location: Europe and Latin America   Salary: £150k - £170k.


The Role

We are seeking a Senior Blockchain Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of this high‑impact Bitcoin Layer 2 ecosystem. Working closely with the Director of Architecture, you will design robust, scalable systems, guide development teams, and evaluate new technologies that push the boundaries of what’s possible on Bitcoin.


Responsibilities

  • Design and improve system architectures.
  • Lead development teams and ensure architectural alignment.
  • Evaluate technologies, risks, and business impact.
  • Communicate updates to stakeholders on progress and decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Web3 with architectural experience; strong Solidity, Java, and EVM expertise; Rust/JS a plus.
  • Deep Bitcoin knowledge, applied cryptography, secure protocol design, and smart contract auditing.
  • Experience with consensus algorithms, Sybil control mechanisms, and blockchain interoperability.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and remote teamwork skills; BSc/BA or equivalent; fluent English.
