About the Role:
This consultant position will be a key part of an established andhigh performing team for adult ADHD and looking to the future transformation ofmental health services. Your responsibilities will include developing andimplementing comprehensive care plans that address the complex needs of adultswith mental health issues and ADHD. You will work collaboratively withmultidisciplinary teams to ensure that our services are holistic, patient-centred,and evidence-based.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with ADHD, tailoring care to individual needs.
Collaboration: Work with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and others to deliver coordinated care.
Education & Training: Support staff with training on current developments in ADHD and mental health.
Service Transformation: Lead initiatives to enhance and modernise the ADHD service, including digital and community- based innovations.

Person SpecificationTeaching and Research
- Willingness to contribute to the local and wider NHS research programmes
- Experience of teaching colleagues of different professions and disciplines
- Experience of teaching undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Ability to interpret published research and to apply research findings to clinical practice.
- Experience as an educational and/or clinical supervisor
- Experience in healthcare research
- Publications in peer reviewed journals

Clinical Skills and Knowledge

Qualifications
- GMC Licence to practise
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at time of interview
- To hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post.
- Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
- MRCP, MRCGP, JCPTGP and/or CCT in General Practice or other relevant discipline
- CCT in General Psychiatry
Experience
- Specific training in diagnosis and management of ADHD (i.e. via UKAAN or via working with ADHD services)
- Experience of diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in those with complex mental health conditions.
- Prior experience working in a Community Mental Health Team.
- Experience of psychiatric practice in a range of settings, especially the community.
- Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
- Sufficient experience of working with physical health disorders to be confident in treating ADHD in the presence of comorbid physical problems.
Management
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and managers.
- Awareness of NHS management and funding arrangements.
- Management training / experience.
- Experience of involvement in service development.
