This role is an integral part of a fast-paced Product Lifecycle Management based digital transformation project. This transformation project underpins the delivery of world leading defence products. The enabling software for this transformation project includes Siemens NX, Teamcenter and Capital, but will expand into a SAP-centric manufacturing domain. The transformation project will reach across the full breadth of the Product Lifecycle, initially focusing on the Design and Manufacturing Engineering phases but then move into the consumption of Design information for manufacturing, assembly, procurement, quality assurance and commissioning. In summary, we are creating a Digital Thread of Product design and build intent.
Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Model-Based Definition Lead to drive the definition, implementation and adoption of model-based definition and engineering across the enterprise. The MBD Lead will play a crucial role nurturing a community of Engineers and Leaders who will enhance product development processes by leveraging digital models to improve accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:

-Lead the implementation of model-based definition strategies across the engineering department.
-Work side by side with technical and business architects to ensure optimal configuration of NX and Teamcenter toolsets (where necessary) to support the exploitation of MBD and its benefits.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate MBD into the product lifecycle.
-Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and guidelines for MBD.
-Provide guidance and content to enable the development of training material and support of engineering teams on MBD tools and processes.
-Monitor and report on the effectiveness of MBD initiatives, recommending improvements as needed.
-Work with the Solution Architects to ensure data governance, version control, and seamless digital thread across the product lifecycle.
-Create documentation of the solution design and how this meets business requirements
-Working with the Business Transformation team to develop (and support) the business change initiatives to support MBD/E across the Engineering and Manufacturing domains
Key Skills & Experience:

Extensive experience in Product Design and Manufacturing processes
Proven experience in model-based engineering and definition.
Proficiency with Siemens NX with respect to MBD
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter
Experience of Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Process Planning.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems
Knowledge and experience of integration with SAP.
Experience in business process analysis and requirements gathering.
Knowledge of digital twin philosophies.
Working Conditions:

Remote working on client laptop/equipment.
Onsite client office days typically 2 or 3 days a fortnight.
Onsite workshops typically conducted on client site and occasionally at software Vendor locations.
Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
