Location: Bolton (50/50 hybrid working)

Duration: 6-month contract

Rate: £60ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Due to the nature of the role, SC clearance will be required prior to starting.

Role details:

Our client, a prominent leader in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking a Project Planner / Controller to join their team in Bolton. This contract role involves significant involvement in project planning within the Defence industry, utilising SAP and project management tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysing ongoing progress and performance, assessing against contractual and internal targets to determine variance and its respective causes.
Preparing reports and recommending actions to maintain or improve progress.
Establishing and initiating the overall project schedule, ensuring it adheres to company standards.
Supporting the development of planning skills across the project team, coaching team members in best practice planning and scheduling.
Integrating all work package plans to achieve a cohesive network, managing and maintaining the project's performance measurement baseline.
Supporting work package teams in updating their plans on a monthly basis.
Producing, distributing, and reporting project schedule data, advising on conflicts and corrective actions.
Managing the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and applying it when required.
Managing the project critical path analysis process according to company standards.
Fostering good working relationships with engineers and the broader community to ensure the timely delivery of accurate project performance data.

What we are looking for in you:

Hold or eligible to obtain UK SC.
High level of competence and experience with Primavera and SAP PS.
Proficiency in industry-standard computing applications, specifically spreadsheets.
Strong communication skills, capable of working in large, multidisciplinary teams.
Appeal for working in a multicultural pan-European environment.
Proven commercial and financial management experience.
A proactive team player who can inspire others, demonstrating assertiveness and strong negotiation and arbitration skills.
