About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Crypto Manager to lead the Cryptographic Management Service, ensuring the secure provision, management, and distribution of cryptographic assets for all delivered capabilities within the programme. The role will involve engagement with key stakeholders, risk management, and compliance with MOD cryptographic policies and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and deliver cryptographic plans, ensuring all necessary preparations and dependencies are met.

Oversee the ongoing management of cryptographic plans to achieve programme delivery goals.

Ensure full compliance with MOD frameworks and policies for cryptographic management, handling, and distribution.

Engage with key stakeholders (including Front Line Commands, Cryptographic Services for Defence, and UK National Distribution Agency) to manage ordering, deployment, and control of cryptographic assets (hardware and keymat).

Lead and project manage assigned work packages within the cryptographic management domain.

Identify and mitigate potential risks related to cryptographic asset deployment.

Maintain a detailed programme crypto management plan to support all aspects of the delivered programme.

Develop strong relationships with suppliers, including joint planning, proposal development, and documentation support.

Prepare and manage Business and Commitment Cases to support cryptographic expenditure.

Oversee high-level planning from transition to live service delivery and operation.

Implement continuous improvement activities for cryptographic processes and maintain knowledge of industry cryptographic standards.

Provide routine and ad-hoc reports and briefs, contributing to policy development where required.

Manage and coordinate a diverse range of stakeholders, considering their influence and interests.

Ensure efficient use of project resources, engaging commercial, technical, and financial subject matter experts for effective decision-making.

Monitor and manage project risks (threats and opportunities), implementing response strategies.

Identify, document, and escalate risks associated with cryptographic activities in both planned and live environments.

Support knowledge development and upskilling for new cryptographic processes and change management initiatives.

Operate as part of the Live Service Delivery Team, supporting programme and project delivery as required.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience

MOD experience in a cryptographic management environment.

Strong project management experience, preferably Agile methodologies.

Expertise in cryptographic capacity and demand management.

In-depth knowledge of the CAPS process and procurement of cryptographic devices.

Experience in Crypto Net Controller principles and functions.

Strong understanding of governance and risk control frameworks.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and uncertainties.

Proven ability to develop, manage, and maintain programme cryptographic plans
