Senior Project Controls Specialist – UK (Power Transmission & HV Substations) Location: Glasgow (Travel Required)

Are you a skilled Project Planner or Controls Specialist with a background in high-voltage (HV) substation projects? Do you thrive in high-compliance, client-facing environments where Primavera P6, earned value, and risk management are second nature?

We’re partnering with a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation to find a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support major power transmission projects across the UK.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project

  • Build tender and design schedules based on drawings and technical specs

  • Lead earned value management (EVM) and monitor project KPIs

  • Analyse delays and change impacts; manage compensation events

  • Collaborate with delivery teams, designers, and stakeholders (including National Grid)

  • Provide dashboard reporting, project controls, and planning oversight

    ✅ What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years’ planning experience, with at least 5 years in the HV sector

  • Proven track record on substation projects and National Grid (NGET TP 193) compliance

  • Expert in Primavera P6; capable of creating fully integrated schedules

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (up to 50%)

  • CSCS card and a strong understanding of CDM regulations

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline

  • Experience contributing to professional bodies or industry groups

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
