About the Role


We’re hiring a highly experienced Business Analyst to support the Defined Benefit portfolio of projects for our client a large financial business specialising in Retirement products.


Experience within Bulk Purchase Annuities (BPA) or Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) products is essential


Skills, knowledge and expertise

The Business Analyst must possess a combination of analytical, creative, and communication skills, as well as a broad and deep expertise in analysis techniques, solution development, and project/change management. The ability to self-manage and work in a dynamic environment is also crucial, as is a results-driven mindset that considers risk and prioritises the delivery of value to stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to interpret complex goals and solutions, deliver on short-term commitments whilst considering the longer-term impacts.
  • Problem-solving: Expert at analysing, synthesising, and logically structuring information in a step-by-step way to identify trends and find solutions, particularly through use of collaboration tools.
  • Analysis techniques: Expert knowledge and application of analysis techniques, design principles, Agile practices, and risk in analysis.
  • Creativity: Adaptable and creative approaches, with the ability to use operating models and design principles to solve complex problems.
  • Communication: Excellent collaboration, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills at all levels, able to purposefully communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information.
  • Stakeholder management: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and convince, with negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Results-oriented: Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented, with the ability to lead analysis in different environments and challenges.
  • Solution development: Expertise in proposition development, operating and business model design, and business and solution architecture, with a focus on commercial and risk analysis.
  • Data analysis: Excellent data analysis skills to drive data-led insights and innovation.
  • Project and change management: Knowledge of project and change management in different environments to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Mentoring and team development: Support and encourage development of other members of the team, bring maturity to the BA disciplines, strive to identify and implement improvements.
