The main purpose of this job…

You will be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive plumbing, remedial and rectification work, on a wide variety of water systems and will require a good understanding of both commercial and domestic water systems and water treatment plant. You will be responsible for ensuring the work is carried out safely and in accordance with the required industry standards.

    Role description

    Key responsibilities:

    To carry out water hygiene plumbing and remedial work, in line with company procedures and method statements, to include the following:

    • Pressurisation units & hot water calorifier inspections, servicing & maintenance

    • Cold water storage tank inspections, relining and replacements.

    • Water treatment inspections, installations, servicing and maintenance.

    • Closed loop & chilled system inspections, servicing and maintenance.

    • Water softeners inspection, servicing and maintenance.

    • General pipework alterations and plumbing remedial work.

    • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with client requirements, scope and specification.

    • Ensure all work records and forms (manual and electronic system based) are complete and accurate.

    • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed and recorded, and are complete and accurate.

    • Ensure all arrangements for visits with clients are made in a timely and professional manner.

    • Provide full support to Service Manager, as and when required.

      Person specification:

    • Effective communication with good interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization, and with 3rd parties.

    • An ability to proactively identify problems and make decisions, taking appropriate action to a resolution.

    • An ability to attain an accurate and consistent standard of service.

    • An ability to work on own initiative and positively as a team member.

    • Computer literacy, with the ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office package and bespoke software/databases.

    • Good organisational and timekeeping skills

    • Professional attitude

    • Ability to work to strict deadlines

      Essential qualifications/experience:

      A sound working knowledge of the HSE’s ACoP L8, HSG274 and you will hold at least Level 2 Technical Plumbing Certificate (or equivalent).

      An excellent understanding of both Unvented Hot Water Systems & Water Regulations and hold an appropriate certificates.

      At least two year’s experience of undertaking commercial plumbing work.
