Quality Management Specialist – Defence Aviation (18-Month Contract) Location: Birmingham, UK Contract: Fixed-Term, 18 Months Security Clearance: SC clearance required

An established aerospace and defence organisation is seeking a Quality Management Specialist to support its Continuing Airworthiness Management activities within a Military Aviation environment. This is a fixed-term contract role for 18 months, based in Birmingham, working as part of an approved Military CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation).
This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance across airworthiness systems, ensuring that internal processes and regulatory standards are upheld in line with the UK’s Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Audit and assurance of CAMO personnel competence, systems, and procedures
Oversight of compliance with RA 4900–4974 (MRP Part M) and internal CAME procedures
Conduct regular audits and monitoring across maintenance organisations and subcontractors
Verify CAMO activities meet regulatory, safety, and airworthiness standards
Monitor outsourced CAMO tasks and ensure agreements, roles, and responsibilities are clearly defined
Support and attend Corrective Action meetings, reporting on non-conformances and mitigation measures
Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and risk management initiatives across airworthiness operations Essential Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a regulated airworthiness, quality assurance, or CAMO environment
Strong knowledge of Military Aviation Regulations (MRP Part M / RA 4900 series)
Experience conducting audits and reporting within a compliance-focused framework
Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders across CAMO, maintenance, and delivery teams
Confident working with CAME documentation and quality system procedures Desirable Experience:

Aircraft Programmes Internal Auditor Training
AS9100D / AS9110C Auditor certification
Understanding of Defence CAMO and DAOS surveillance processes
Human Factors awareness in aerospace environments
Familiarity with military aviation documentation and standards Additional Information:

Candidates must already hold or be eligible to obtain SC (Security Check) clearance
